In their words

“ Terminal is the kind of place where you can grow quickly without feeling thrown in alone. The team is highly driven and ambitious, but never pushy. People work hard, support each other, and still maintain a genuinely healthy work-life balance. It’s rare to find a startup that already feels this mature and promising while still giving you the opportunity to make visible impact. ”

Corrine Xiang
Software Engineering Intern

“ Terminal hits the sweet spot of operating with the vision and maturity of a much larger organization alongside the agility and ownership that comes with early-stage startups. We solve challenging technical problems and have sustainable work-life balance that most startups can only promise. ”

Zachary Manesiotis
Founding Engineer

“ Working at Terminal has been a rewarding experience. Solving a niche Telematics problem and building a data platform from the ground up to handle massive scale is an engineer’s paradise. Plus, the flat org structure and great work-life balance make it an amazing place to work! ”

Adesh Adimurthy
Tech Lead, Data Platform

“ Terminal is a very special place. You will execute on a focused vision with clear product-market fit, solve highly challenging engineering problems with tangible customer impact, collaborate with team members who are brilliant and supportive, and still have a personal life. Don't settle for less. ”

Kiyan Mair
Founding Engineer

“ Terminal is the earliest stage company I've ever worked for, yet it's also the most organized and with the clearest vision. Prepared with the context of our customers' goals and our company vision - we are able to deliver on initiatives in ways you expect from a team 5 times our size. ”

Jason Rai
Tech Lead, Product Engineering

“ Terminal runs on a simple combination that's incredibly rare in practice: obsess over customers, move fast, and hold an uncompromisingly high bar. Everyone is close to the customer - you feel their problems directly, and that urgency shapes everything. We move at a pace that isn't normally sustainable, but it is, because the people here are exceptional, lift each other up, and the standard for quality never drops. ”

Chief of Staff

Our values

How we operate,
day in and day out

Customer Obsession

We approach customer problems as our own. We anticipate what they need, act in their best interest, and stay honest and proactive even when something goes wrong. We measure ourselves on their outcomes, not on what we shipped.

Craftsmanship

We maintain an incredibly high bar for ourselves. Every product decision, every line of code, every customer interaction—in everything we do we strive for world class. We obsess over the details and constantly aim to raise the bar on quality.

Velocity

Speed matters but speed without the right direction becomes wasted effort. We move fast through building tools that give our internal teams leverage, and over investing into developing unique insights that improve the quality of our strategic decisions.

Ownership

Everyone here owns something and drives it end to end. That means taking an unclear problem, shaping the plan, bringing others along for the ride and seeing through to the end result, without waiting to be told what to do.

Life at Terminal

The resources to do the best work of your career

Equity and ownership

We believe the people you hire is the company you build, so we aim to be overwhelmingly generous with equity. You are joining a team where everyone acts like an owner by default and has meaningful upside in the success of the company.

You get a competitive salary plus equity, and we walk through the math openly at the offer stage, including what it may be worth in different growth scenarios for the company. We refresh grants as your scope expands.

Company offsites

Twice a year we step out of the day-to-day for a multi-day company offsite. We have gone skiing, to the beach, and to lakeside cottages. They help deepen relationships and build alignment away from the work, and they have their own traditions by now, including the Terminal Olympics, cooking challenges, board games and more!

Office culture

We work in person four days a week. It is not about keeping an eye on anyone, since everyone here is self-driven. It is that an early-stage company moves much faster in the same room: the relationship building, the context sharing, the decision making. It also builds camaraderie and is how the team becomes a team. Remote can feel like logging into the Matrix every morning, and we would much rather build something people feel part of.

Flexible HSA/LSA

On top of our group health coverage, everyone gets two spending accounts to use how they want, $3,000 a year each. The healthcare spending account covers medical expenses the CRA recognizes as eligible, so you can put it toward the care that matters most to you. The lifestyle spending account is for investing in yourself, so you can grow and do your best work. Use it on a gym membership, a course, a conference, a coach, or equipment for a hobby that is important to you.

Health, dental & vision

We have a full group benefits plan covering health, dental, and vision for you and your family. It is separate from the health and lifestyle spending accounts, not a replacement for them, so you have steady coverage plus the flexibility to spend on what you need.
