Twice a year we step out of the day-to-day for a multi-day company offsite. We have gone skiing, to the beach, and to lakeside cottages. We work in person four days a week. It is not about keeping an eye on anyone, since everyone here is self-driven. It is that an early-stage company moves much faster in the same room: the relationship building, the context sharing, the decision making. It also builds camaraderie and is how the team becomes a team. Remote can feel like logging into the Matrix every morning, and we would much rather build something people feel part of.
